After a flurry of games this past week there is now a new #1 team in the state and that team is the Atlanta Tigers.  With the big wins the Atlanta Bulldogs have pulled off you have to recognize the coaching job that staff has done over there as that team gets better and better every week.  Acworth and Douglasville go at it again as they will see who will be the top team in the NWGYFL. The first game ended up in favor of Acworth.  B2C State Championship is slowly approaching and with their only being six spots available and a wildcard with the Turkey Bowl bid it is shaping up to be a great season.

A lot of upsets happened this past week.  As they always say any given Saturday you don’t know what can happen.  The Riverdale Blackhawks played a classic against MLC Hurricanes.  Both teams scored with less than 2 minutes left in the game.  Riverdale came out on top 7-6.  Warner Robins and Harrison make the top ten for the first time in team history at this particular age group.  Both are very solid teams with good coaching staffs.  

Due to the level of competition the B2C Championship Series will be extended to 8-11 teams including the wild card bid from the Turkey Bowl.  The game will be played on November 31st – December 2nd and December 8th.  Good luck to all teams

Without making a big noise the East Metro Steelers have been quietly putting in work and now they see themselves with a chance to make the Youth Bowl if all goes their way.  If they make the championship game against ABA in their league crossover game at the end of the year it will more than likely be an eliminator game for who moves on to the Frank Ski.  It will be a good one.  Logansville and Mill Creek NN look like they are headed on a collision course as both teams have a chance to make it to the GFL Championship game.

GA Thoroughbreds will have their hands full this weekend in the YFA Semifinals as they must play a Tucker team that played them to a classic in last years B2C State Semifinal.  Atlanta Bulldogs, Forest Park, Acworth, Marietta and Gainesville all look like locks to make it in the B2C.  Decatur Army will have their hands full as the Atlanta Tigers are playing some of the best football in the state right now in any age group.  Butts Co had a big win against Locust Grove Black to keep their perfect season.  Ridgeland and Summerville will compete up in North GA to see who walks away with their league championship.  Grayson has the easier of the two roads as Collins Hill and Buford play for the right to go the GFL Championship.  Win and your in

North Henry and the Atlanta Bulldogs look like they are headed on a collision course for the B2C State Championship game but there are some good teams that look to stamp their own ticket to the bog show.  Rome even though they took a loss to ABA it might have been the best thing for them.  They are a better team with that loss happening when it did.  The Atlanta Vikings and East Metro will figure out who will advance as both teams have remain unbeaten during league play.  A win for East Metro would be huge not only for that team but for that organization as they continue to grow.  Not to mention going into B2C as a possible top four seed.  Parkview and Peachtree Ridge must get past their opponents  this week in the GFL Semis.  Both teams will be challenged.  Sleeper of this age group is Welcome All.  If Coach Scandrett and Browning get hot at the right time then they will find themselves in the B2C State Championship game.  RIngold, Clubview Gray, Barrow Co, North Paulding and Creekview all have a chance to make it in by winning their league championship.

At the beginning of the season it was talked about how the Atlanta Tigers and the Middle GA Bears were both sleeper teams and now they stand #1 and #2 in the state.  Which will make for an interesting league championship.  Sharpsburg and McEachern both control their own destiny.  If they win their championship even make the championship they are in.  The YFA has been a monster of a league to battle through.  With the championship game participants both getting a bid, the third team out will have their hands full.  Either they will get the at large bid or they will be fighting their way through the Turkey Bowl to get the wild card bid.  If the Newnan Outlaws can make it out of the first round they will change everything.  That team is playing at a high level and NO ONE wants to see them in a win or go home situation but first they have to get past a William Walker team that beat them early in the season first.

Less than a month away from the B2C Championship Series beginning this age group is starting to take shape.  More will be found out as the playoffs have started for some and for others they are about to begin.  GA Falcons, Atlanta Jackboyz and Decatur Army all have a shot of wining their league.  Only the top two teams will be invited to B2C and the third team left out will be waiting by the phone for an at large bid or they will fight it out in the Turkey Bowl.  In the MAYFL Coach Chance from Milford has done a solid job all year long with his team.  Winning some pretty big games.  The 22-0 lost to an unranked and very underrated Acworth team looked bad but he still should be able to rebound and make a run for his league championship.  He will have to focus on Phenix City Outlaw team that wants the Milford Warriors bad as they feel they should have won their first matchup during the season.  North Henry and GA Seminoles is HUGE.  GA Seminoles offense is getting better and North Henry might have the best run defense in the state.  This game will be for not only a spot in the ultra competitive YFA Championship game but also a birth into B2C.  Warner Robins and MLC are extremely under rated.  Both teams have a great scheme on offense and get after on the defensive side of the ball.  Buford and Duluth go at it in the GFL.  Buford made an adjustment at QB as they have the super athletic Dream Rashaad behind center.  While Duluth will lean on their size led by the genetic freak, last years defensive player of the year Daverin Geralds. Along with Julian Lewis from Welcome All, those two are considered the top prospect in this age group.

Team of the Week: Atlanta Bulldogs and Dacula Falcons NS

So here is what we learned after the mega game between ABA and GA Seminoles.  ABA is explosive and can score in a blink of an eye.  GA Seminoles are still one of the most physical teams on the offensive and defensive line. When they play again it will be another classic.  A game that went unnoticed but was just as big was DYJ vs William Walker.  After that early season loss against GA Seminoles the Dekalb Yellow Jackets have become a scary team to deal with.  They finally have their offense going and their linebacker core is PHYSICAL!!  With the 11U Division for B2C being a smaller pool of teams it will be interesting to see who makes it into the show once the smoke clears.  Forsyth, Grayson and Gresham are all teams that can make a run.  Forsyth has one of the best QBs in the country.  Grayson is disciplined and executes consistently and Gresham has some very talented players including Wesley Brown who is special.
