Rockmart has a big win this past weekend against Acworth and shoot up the rankings to #7.  This week they have another battle on their hands as they take on #5 Rome.  The Atlanta Bulldogs are starting to catch the voters attention with some big wins but North Henry dominance over the past three years is hard to overcome.  Parkview moves up to #3 and possibly looks to be a lock to win the GFL but they will have their hands full once they reach the GFL Semifinals.  Clubview Grey from Columbus makes their way into honorable mention as they try to make some noise in east GA.  Fayette County and Brooks Bears have one more week to prepare before they swap paint on the field in a highly anticipated game in the Southern Competitive.  GA Hurricanes make their way into the top 15.

In the NWGYFL its about to be separation Saturday as Rome plays Rockmart and Sharspburg plays Smyrna.  Both Rome and Sharspburg will see if they can remain undefeated as they have a huge matchup against each other next week.  Welcome All Black continues to win big games.  It started last year in the B2C after the coach made some adjustments.  Their run ended with them beating multiple league champs and making it to the championship game.  This year they have played at a high level and it showed in the win over Central DeKalb.  Once they get their offense together this team has a chance to win it all.  Grayson and Union City make their debut in the rankings for the first time this year.  Grayson AN win against Archer earlier this year looks even better after Archer beat Dacula this past weekend.

It’s time to see just how good North Henry has become.  They have always had one of the best defenses in the state.  Offensively last year they took a step in the right direction as their QB was all world on the field.  Now the #1 team in the state and the country is in front of them.  The game should be a classic and the only problem for North Henry is the bigger the game the better this Welcome All team plays.  North Henry must be ready to play all four quarters to compete.  GA Falcons and Atlanta Jack Boyz continue to play at a high level.  If Coach Parlee can pull a championship off this year with all the turnover you have to consider him for Coach of the Year.  With that being said you have to say the same thing about Coach Chance at Milford.  His team continues to win big game after big game in the MAYFL.  The GFL has a couple of things going for them right now.  #99 for Duluth has to remind you of Travon Walker the UGA commit from Upson Lee.  He is huge, athletic and violent.  #3 from Parkview is having a special season.  Playing at RB/DB and also contributing in the passing game as a WR.  Phenix City Outlaws might be one of the best teams in the state without no one really saying anything about them.  Warner Robins will pull off an upset against someone in the B2C Championship Series if they make it.

DYJ jumped on East Metro early and didn’t look back as it was 22-6 in the 1st Quarter.  DYJ has gotten a lot better since that early season loss to GA Seminoles.  We will see if East Metro can bounce back and get that offense going because this week they have to deal with another good team as the GA Seminoles will be lined up against them.  Forsyth finally gets a big test this weekend against College Park, both teams have pretty much breezed through their schedule.  Should be a good game as Forsyth Paladins have last B2C QB of the Year. The kid is the real deal.  Jefferson Russell had a big win over Raburn.  They might be the best team in North GA.  Grayson, Peachtree Ridge, Collins Hill, Mill Creek and Parkview all have a legitimate chance to win the GFL.  We are going to see if Peachtree Ridge is for real as they will play Mill Creek.  At the top you have the Atlanta Bulldogs, they are finally looking like the best team in the state.  Offensively they are putting up points and defensively they are playing discipline and violent football.  Griffin Bulldogs might be a sleeper team as they are undefeated in Southern Premier

The Atlanta Panthers and Atlanta Bulldogs are the cream of the crop right now but their are some more teams that are starting to enter the Frank Ski Youth Bowl conversations.  Logansville looked like a lock to win the GFL but thats before the emergence of South Gwinnett, this might be Coach Flemings best coaching job as he has his team in position to to compete for the league title.  Decatur Army and East Metro both feel extremely underrated and we are sure the coaches are using the “Us against the World” anthem but they are playing at a high level and it’s possible they could both be undefeated when they meet in a couple of weeks.  Monroe just had a big win over Stockbridge and the way it’s looking, there might not be a team in the GYFC that can come close to beating them unless the East Metro Titans can pull it off.  Riverdale Blackhawks and Douglasville have also entered the conversation of the Youth Bowl.  Riverdale win over previously undefeated Jonesboro they stand alone in the Southern Premier.  Douglasville  is also undefeated in the NWGYFL.  College Park got a big win last weekend against a very good Tucker team as their relied heavily in their defense.  Their Defensive Back #2 is special and will be in the running for B2C Defensive Back of the Year.

Welcome All Blue is hotter than fish grease right now as they have beaten two straight ranked teams in a row.  Their defense hasn’t allowed a single in point in those two games.  Biggest jump of the week goes to Sharpsburg as they continue to look like the surprise team of the season.  Their defense flies around to the ball and their offense can put up points quickly.  ABA is quietly putting together one of the better coaching jobs in the state.  Big wins against William Walker and Fairburn help them extremely for a team no one thought was going to win more than four games.  When the playoffs come we will see if this team is built for the championship run.  Middle GA Bears have their first true test of the season as they play the #9 ranked East Metro Steelers, they have a chance to show all the teams in their age group that they belong with the other elite teams.  GA Hurricanes make their way into the rankings as they had a big win against Union City.

Julian “JuJu” Lewis was the difference in the #1 ranked Welcome All victory against a very good North Henry team. When the Panthers weren’t able to move the ball on the ground Julian went to the air.  He accounted for 3 passing TDs and 1 rushing.  His team would win the game 39-0.  Congrats to Julian Lewis for being named the B2C Player of the Week #B2Cfamily

The game everyone has been waiting to see is finally here and its also being played at Old National which is one of the best places to play youth football.  The  Atlanta Bulldogs take on William Walker Tigers.  Let’s take our time and break this one down.  Both teams are very well coached but if we are talking about X’s and O’s that goes to William Walker.  A veteran coaching staff that has been around for a very long time.  They will be counted on to make in game adjustments multiple times.  Both teams are very talented but the Atlanta Bulldogs are loaded.  Chance Campbell from the Atlanta Bulldogs might be the best player in his age group as of today.  Jiovanne McGee is special, he is a big play waiting to happen and Mantrez Walker is sideline to sideline at LB.  He has good quickness and a very unique nose for the ball.  He hardly takes any false steps and is a great open field tackler.  ABA is coming off a high after they beat Maryland Seahawks convincingly.  Now they come back home to play a team that some feel should be the #1 team in the state.  It’s going to be a great environment for the kids.  As it will be a packed house at Old National.  Mill Creek looks like they are playing with confidence again as they were able to beat a very good Peachtree Ridge team.  If they find themselves on the opposite side of the GFL Playoffs bracket from Grayson, then they have a chance to make it to the big show.

With only four spots in the Youth Bowl this year it is going to be a battle to the end.  Let’s work through the possible scenarios.  Atlanta Panthers will more than likely have College Park to deal with in the championship.  The Rams continue to get better and better each game.  Atlanta Panthers have a chance to make history.  We will see who comes out the YFA.  The Atlanta Bulldogs have to deal with a very good Newnan team and the winner of Decatur Army and East Metro Steelers.  Logansville will have Mill Creek, South Gwinnett and Buford.  That picture will start to clear up more as the playoffs are approaching for the GFL.  South Gwinnett probably has one of the best lineman in the state.  Monroe, Riverdale and Douglasville have a chance at the Frank Ski Youth Bowl as they will probably walk away with their league championship.  So if everything goes as planned you will have a Youth Bowl with Atlanta Panthers vs Riverdale/Monroe/Douglasville and Atlanta Bulldogs vs Logansville.  Winner meets in the championship.  That would be a great Youth Bowl but that could all change with a snap of the football.  Still a lot of football left to be played.

Brookwood vs Mill Creek is finally here.  Brookwood has held the #1 spot every week except the opening week.  Mill Creek has slowly crept up the rankings.  Both have outstanding players that will be “Early Offer” players.  This game is going to be one for the ages.  Union Grove and Locust Grove go at it as both teams are the best in their county.  For both teams the games haven’t even been close.  Whichever team that will be able to make adjustments during the game will be the winner.  Cartersville looks to be in rare form as their league has started playoffs, only defending county champions Calhoun will be able to stand in their way as Cartersville is looking to bring home another trophy.  Due to some non football related incidents it will be Eddie White and Rex playing in the first round of the Clayton County playoffs.  Arguably the two best teams in the county are going at it, this is going to be a good one.
