GA Thoro has that same swag from last year as they were able to beat a very good Tucker team 13-0.  This week they have Welcome All Chrome.  If they beat them its going to be very hard for the voters to not say Thoro is the #1 team in the state.  Grayson Wood and Buford Gindlesperger played a great game which ended 21-13 Grayson.  Its possible if Grayson Wood can make it through one more tough game with Lawrenceville they will finish the regular season undefeated and ready for the playoffs.  Smyrna beat Rome 26-6 in a big game.  Acworth Orange who was 2 minutes away from the B2C Championship game last year is on a mission and that is who Smyrna will play this week.  This game will let the 7U age division know if the Seahawks are for real or not.

Rome looked very good this past weekend against Smyrna.  Acworth gave up their first TD on the season but still beat a very good Bill Arp team 25-6.  The Atlanta Vikings held on to win against the Atlanta Tigers in a defensive battle.  Parkview scored late to beat a Archer team that has turned some heads in the GFL.  Parkview remains undefeated, Archer takes their first loss of the season.  Central Dekalb versus the #1 team in the state North Henry is the game to watch this weekend in this age group as both teams have played well so far.  Central DeKalb does have the talent, they just have to put it together.  North Henry are the three time defending B2C Champs and they are playing like it this year.  Ringold and Boyton go at it this weekend.  Both teams are undefeated so far in league play.  Ringold has only given up six point so far this season.  Boyton offense has scored over 30 twice in three games.  Should be interesting to see what happens.

Its always good to have a Tucker team in the race.  This weekend proved that as Tucker was able to beat #6 ranked GSA 20-0.  This makes this weekend all that more exciting as two of the storied programs in youth football go at it with teams that are in the hunt as Tucker takes on #2 ranked Central Dekalb.  At the beginning of the season people were laughing when they saw the Atlanta Tigers in the top ten in the rankings.  Now it looks like the Atlanta Tigers are the last ones laughing as they were able to outlast a very good and previously ranked Atlanta Vikings team that still has a chance to win their league and make it to B2C as we all know the Atlanta Vikings as a program get better as the year goes on.  A team that is going unnoticed but playing big time football is Sharpsburg Stallions.  They haven’t given up a point this season and are averaging almost 42 points a game on offense.  The best age group in the state continues to get better and better every week.

Almost the midway point and a couple of things that we know so far.  Welcome All is the best team in the age group.  Offensively they can pass and run.  Defensively they are disciplined and very good tacklers.  They looked like they are primed to be on the stage receiving their rings again in February at the B2C Gala.  North Henry has one of the best QBs at the age group, their defense is for real.  Georgia Falcons are getting better and better every week.  They almost look to be a lock for B2C if Decatur Army Camo and Atlanta Jack Boyz aren’t able to beat them.  In the GFL it looks like a three team race between Duluth, Buford and Parkview.  Duluth is talented, Buford is a clinic of football fundamentals and Parkview can put up points.  Milford Warriors are probably going to be the team to come out of their league as Coach Chance has done an excellent job with his team.  Upset of the week had to be Forsyth vs Hapeville, no one saw that lost coming but the people in Forsyth know what they are doing.  Rome, Acworth and Douglasville are all fighting it out in the NWGYFL.  As of right now Douglasville looks like a machine.

After a week in where William Walker Blue offense looked anemic.  They come alive in the last moments of the game against previously #1 ranked GA Seminoles. Down by a TD and almost 80 yards to go the Tigers tied the ball game to force OT.  In Overtime William Walker Oomp Squad came away with a victory that sent shockwaves around the state.  A couple of questions that came from game.  With that one win how good will William Walker be by the time B2C rolls around.  Can GA Seminoles bounce back and get their offense looking how it looked at B2C last year.  Does this open the door for the Atlanta Bulldogs to run the table.  Why is everyone sleeping on East Metro Steelers?   Slowly but surely Forsyth Paladins QB is showing why he won the QB of the year award last year.  The big, tall, strong armed QB has the Paladins undefeated and in the top ten.  Gresham has a great coaching staff, they also have some talent on the field.  That leads for a formula of success.  Don’t be surprised to see Gresham in the hunt at the end for B2C and knocking some teams off in the B2C when they make it in.  Grayson Holloway has a very good team, they are big up front and very well coached.  They already won the much anticipated rematch with Mill Creek Voyles.  Now its on them to see if they can run the table in the GFL.

This has been the best 12U Division is a very long time.  Yes there is a team that is dominant but there are also a group of teams that have a legitimate chance at winning the Frank Ski Youth Bowl this year.  Lets break it down.

Atlanta Panthers are special, they have a QB, WR and DE that has a chance to be considered one of the best players in the country when their time comes.  They throw the ball a lot and when it gets cold outside what happens then.  Last year they won a very competitive game against ABA in the B2C Championship.  This year if they meet in the youth bowl with the entire state and city watching it will be a guaranteed classic.

The Atlanta Bulldogs QB is starting to have that Alien DNA, meaning that he is looking out of this world.  The offensive line is big and mean.  Defensively there are still some holes but they fly around and give great effort.  They have a chance to beat the Atlanta Panthers.

Loganville has a very good team with an unorthodox offense that if you aren’t prepared for it they can put two touchdowns up on a team very quickly and use a lot of the clock.  Defensively they probably have the best pass defense as there players are always in position to make plays on the ball.

Decatur Army has been good for a while and to be honest they are probably the most disrespected team in the state.  They are playing with house money right now so to them it style points or anything else like that does matter.  They just want to win.

GA Rattlers, Dunbar, Stockbridge and Riverdale all have a shot of making it in.  If they go undefeated and win their league then the conversation gets very, very interesting.  Only four teams will make it to the youth bowl this year.  Good luck to all teams.

Brookwood Maroon looks goooooooooodddd.  They looked great in all facets of the game against Shiloh.  They have a chance to run the table and make it to the B2C out of the GFL.  Only one issue with that.  Mill Creek looks goooooooooodddd as well.  Both teams are having a special year.  Hopefully when these two meet they pack the house for both teams.  It will be a great game.  Both North Cobb and Stephenson are loaded with talent but they are polar opposites of each other.  North Cobb will hang 50 on you by half time.  Stephenson won’t let you score.  If these two meet up in B2C look for Malachi Singleton the #2 ranked QB in the country to have to have a “Warrior” type of game.  Stephenson will test him and the rest of his North Cobb teammates.  Renaissance is trying to make a push in the APS with Terrance Love.  He can literally do whatever he wants on the field.  Long Middle might be the best team in APS as they have a running attack that puts up numbers quickly.  Cambridge has a big challenge this weekend as they play a very good Alpharetta team.  Cambridge feels undervalued and disrespected as they haven’t enjoyed the same type of spotlight as the other schools around the state for winning their league championship.  The cameras will be on them Saturday to see what they can do. Eddie White in Clayton Co looks like they might win their county championship as they played undefeated Pointe South and came away 48-12 winner.

North Henry Black and Hapeville game lived up to the hype.  North Henry Black would pull off the hard fought game with a 20-19 victory over a well coached Hapeville.  Don’t be shocked if North Henry gets the Wild Card bid into B2C and it ends up being an all North Henry matchup for the B2C Championship.  It is very hard to bounce back from a loss of a highly anticipated game and turnaround and beat a good team but thats what the Atlanta Tigers did with a victory over the Georgia Falcons 7-6.  Thats a direct reflection on the kids, coaches and parents to pull out that win.  That’s a mentally tough team.  Acworth has beaten both of the top teams in their league and they continue to get better and better as evident to them scoring 40 points in their last two games.

Downtown Falcons from Athens make their way in the rankings for the first time in the history of their program as they check in at #10.  The YFA is starting to slowly turn into a three team race as Gresham, GA Thoro Red and North Henry Orange are starting to separate themselves from the pack.  All three teams have a legit chance to make it to the B2C.  Pike Co survived a battle with Fayette County as they beat them 22-20.  Pike County also makes the B2C Top 10 for the first time ever in their programs history at 6U.  Warner Robins is has something brewing in middle GA as they are now undefeated and look like a lock for the B2C Championship Series as long as they win their league.  Harrison has another big test this weekend against East Paulding as last week they defeated Wheeler.  With a win Harrison could very well make their way into the top 10.  East Metro Steelers are starting to become a program that everyone is talks about.  Their 6U team is playing at a high level and remain one of the only undefeated teams in their league.  Acworth won the first ever Ice Cream Bowl where the winner is provided ice cream by B2C at their practice.

Great game between GA Thoro and Welcome All.  Both coaches prepared their teams appropriately and all players involved gave great effort.  Only six points separated the teams and GA Thoro came out on top of this battle 12-6.  With that win they were given the nod into the #1 spot.  With recent wins over Tucker and Welcome All during the regular season it is hard to deny Thoro the top spot.  The Atlanta Bulldogs the former #1 team has done nothing but dominate games.  The Atlanta Bulldogs shouldn’t overlook their schedule as they have Decatur Army down the road which can serve as a quality win fro them.  They are averaging almost 40 points a game and haven’t given up a single POINT yet on defense.  If these two ever meet which we are hearing it’s a possibility that they will then we hope the Atlanta turns out for the game as b both teams have put in the work and deserve a great atmosphere to compete in front of.  Tucker finally got back to their winning ways with a 20-18 victory over a very good GSA team.  Acworth looked GOOD this past weekend as their defense played lights out.  Only giving up 6 points to Smyrna.  Pope gets a big win over previously undefeated Wheeler.  Now they. Must take on another undefeated team in Marietta, should be a good one.  Collins Hill remains undefeated in the GFL and so does Grayson Wood.  Forest Park Vikings and Riverdale both remain undefeated and will be able to possibly sharpen their blade so to speak as they won’t see each other until late October.

North Henry proved again that they are the #1 team in the state.  This has been the most dominant we have ever seen them.  Their DLine sets the tone for them every game.  They looked good defeating a solid Central Dekalb team.  ABA led by Coach Reggie believes this us their year to win B2C.  They have the running game, the defense and possibly the Player of the Year on their team in the QB Cypher.  They have a chance to beat North Henry if they can figure out how to deal with that line when the time comes in B2C.  Parkview had one of their biggest wins a couple of weeks ago.  Now they must see if they can finish the drill and walk away with the GFL Championship.  Only problem with that is Peachree Ridge is starting to hit their stride and they just had a quality victory against Grayson in a 7-0 battle.  Should be an interesting matchup to see if it happens.  East Paulding and North Paulding are on a collision course at the end of the season when they play each other.  Both will possibly still be undefeated which will mean playoff seeding will be on the line.  The Atlanta Colts are starting to make some waved in the North Metro Football League.  Looks like they will possibly run the table.

If you heard the Born To Compete Youth Sports Report on V103 on Friday morning it was said that Central DeKalb was on upset alert.  It had nothing to do with anything Central DeKalb was doing wrong and more with everything Tucker was doing right.  Coach Brandon from Tucker is slowly climbing the list for Coach of the Year Honors at the B2C Gala.  Great win bye them this past weekend.  Tucker now has wins against GSA and Central DeKalb.  If they continue to win then they could very well find themselves challenging the defending state championships the GA Seminoles for that #1 ranking when they meet in a couple of weeks.   Rome now sits as the #2 team in the state behind the GA Seminoles.  Middle GA Bears still have the #1 offensive threat in the state on their team and when he gets the ball in his hands he is a nightmare. With Smyrna beating Acworth this past weekend the NWGYFL is starting to balance out as it is becoming one of the more competitive leagues in the state at that particular age group.  Rome, Smyrna, Acworth, Rockmart and Sharpsburg all have a chance to make B2C

Rome has started to rise to the top in the NWGYFL with huge back to back wins against top teams Smyrna and Douglasville. MLC Hurricanes make their way into the rankings.  Midway moves closer and closer to their B2C bid as they beat previously undefeated Atlanta Colts.

With B2C Championship Series a couple of months away the picture is getting clearer for the 8th Grade division.  Brookwood and Mill Creek are about to battle in a couple of weeks and it will be a good one.  A sleeper team to look out for is Parkview, they have offense that can score on anybody.  This might be Coach Nate best job on the sidelines since he started coaching the 8th grade team.  Stephenson has to just win out and they are a lock.  Quintero Lawson the beast of a running back from Stephenson has a chance to walk away with the Turman Award for the best overall player in youth football if he continues to play at high level.  North Cobb is loaded and they have arguably the best signal caller in the country in Malachi Singleton who is up for the Turman Award as well.  Cambridge will make a case for their bid as last weekend they put on a show against a very well coached Alpharetta team who features Justice Hayes who is playing lights out at RB.  Jack Marlow from Cambridge was able to have the most impact on the game as he had touchdowns running, passing and also caught a pass to convert the two point.  Fort and Rothchild in Columbus have been rivals for years and now with both teams being undefeated this will be a great game.  The two wild card teams that might shake up everything is Locust Grove and Crawford Long.  Locust Grove has Mike “PoPo” Aguirre who is a monster on both sides of the ball and the leading candidate for LB of the Year.  Crawford Long who is currently undefeated in APS has Ricky Lee, he can absolutely get it done.  The best matchup of the year will be Ricky Lee CB (Long) vs Terrance Love WR/ATH (Renaissance) if this two teams meet up.  Two players that will and should be All Americans when their time comes.

North Henry Tigers Orange and Black are looking like a powerhouse right now.  At this point the debate is starting to become who is the better team in North Henry.  They way it is going both of these teams could possibly end up on opposite sides of the B2C and it will be an all North Henry Championship.  The Atlanta Vikings and Acworth Warriors are the other two teams to have a legit shot as they look to be front runners for their leagues.  The sleeper team out of all this are the GA Rattlers, they can win big games and when it counts in November and December.  Look for them to make a run that could shake everything up.

GA Thoro Red is for real but North Henry Orange is getting better and better every week.  Once these two teams meet next week its going to be a good one.  Gresham and Tucker is a good game on paper as of right now.  We will have to see if it lives up to the hype or does Gresham continue to dominate.  Voters are finally starting to come around and believe in the Decatur Army team but are they ready to win against East Metro who as of right now looks very good.

GA Thoroughbreds sit on the top right now but in a season where nothing is guaranteed it will be interesting to see who will be ranked #1 in the end.  Both the Atlanta Bulldogs and GA Thorobreds are very good teams.  In two weeks it will start to get cold outside and we will see just how well these coaches have prepared their players and parents for the championship run.  Pope and Marietta have a good matchup this weekend to see who can get control of the Cobb League.  As it looks right now the greatest 6U Division in B2C Championship Series in history from last year looks to be shaping up to the best ever B2C Championship Series for the 7U Division.

Acworth Warriors | 6U Division

The No. 2 ranked 6U Acworth Warriors are showing no signs of slowing down under new Head Coach Reggie Eleazer. After winning the North West Georgia Super Bowl and the B2C Championship at 5U in 2017, Coach Eleazer doesn’t expect a drop off transitioning from defensive coordinator to head coach. The “Hit Squad” is currently 5-0 on the season with their best ball ahead of them.

“Our focus this fall is building a team from top to bottom that can compete against anyone. This year we’re bigger, faster, stronger, and deeper than last season”, explained Coach Eleazer. “The motto for 2018 is good, better, and best. We want to be good at what we’re doing right out of the gate win lose or draw. Then we want to trend towards being better, to start executing what we’re learning in practice by the middle of the season. When the time comes to defend our championships we want to be at our best hitting on all cylinders.”

Unlike many teams in a minimal play league, there is no perceived weakness on this Acworth squad. “We have 16 kids on the roster and every player on the team can compete with anyone.” Coach Eleazer stated adamantly. “We have tough minded players at every position. As I go through game film week to week, I can identity a new player each week standing out. A lot of coaches will tell you they have a key player, but I have a top 16.”

“Our strategy is to overwhelm teams. To use our athletic capabilities and our maturity to overload teams. We’re a disciplined team so we go into every game knowing we’ll have minimal mistakes. We’re going to execute across the line. I can give glory to my running backs but if you see what the offensive line does its incredible. I can give glory to my linebackers but if you see what the defensive line does it’s a field day for them. Its every kid on both sides of the ball”, explained Coach Eleazer.

“The first goal is to win the NWGYFL Super Bowl. Our responsibility to the organization is to win that championship. Our second goal is to win the B2C Championship. If there’s a team ranked higher than us nationally after that, we’ll settle it when the time comes.”

2 Kyro Eleazer, 3 Trey Hall, 4 Jordan Caldwell, 5 Mason Rash, 6 Jeremiah Finley, 7 Jaxon Durham, 8 Kris Moreno, 10 Kade Tutherow, 12 Jayden Wilder, 17 Dejuan Turner, 19 Alfonso AJ Law, 21 Prynce Overton, 25 Tyler Craven, 30 Hollis Williams, 70 Kade Norman, 99 Mika Chaudhry
